Through my FARMS Marketing internship this semester, my understanding of food security has grown. Before this experience, I never thought much about food security beyond the basic concept of having enough food to eat. However, my time at FARMS has helped me realize that food security is much more complex than I initially thought.
Working with FARMS has expanded my understanding on what food security truly involves. It’s not just about providing food; it’s about making sure food is accessible, nutritious, and affordable. These components of food security are so important for individuals and communities’ well-being.
My internship has also provided valuable real-world experience in marketing. I gained hands-on experience working with customer relationship management (CRM) systems and developed stronger communication skills. I worked on designing presentations, building relationships with my coworkers, and collaborating on a range of marketing projects. These experiences have enhanced my professional skill set and will serve me well in the future.
